Artist

I love living near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Painting the quickly passing moods of a landscape is like having a conversation with an old friend.

There are two important parts of my work, drawing and painting. Drawing comes first; it is the bones of my work.To me drawing is a joy.

Painting is joy with color. In painting local and familiar areas I seek a balance between excitement and understated beauty. When painting I can suspend a moment, slow it down to feel the heat, see the color, and experience it over and over again. I want it all there for the viewer, the heat, color, mountains and the anticipation of what is arriving.
